Mike Pennings was born and raised in Hermosa Beach, California. The very streets where Mike once delivered newspapers on a bicycle are now the very same streets where Mike buys and sells residential and commercial properties. His parents, Phyllis and Ed, moved here in 1966 raising a family of three boys and one daughter; Mike, Mele, Loyal and Logan. Mike also has a half brother named Ted Pennings.

When Mike began his real estate career in 1989 he was only 22-years-old. Within two weeks of his start date, Mike sold his first property in Hermosa Beach. That same year, Mike sold his first million-dollar property in Manhattan Beach, California. A short time later, Mike began working at RE/MAX Beach Cities Realty, one of the top RE/MAX offices in the United States.
